attorney profile
Lloyd J. Nadel was born December 12, 1949 and graduated from St. Lawrence University and Hofstra University Law School in the top of his respective classes. He was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and of the United States District Courts in New York in 1976 and to the United States Supreme Court in 1980.
Mr. Nadel was an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County from 1975 through 1979. He rose quickly through the ranks in the Office to trying serious felony cases. As an A.D.A., he won convictions on homicide, burglary, robbery, rape, drug and DWI cases along with other serious offenses. Lloyd had the reputation of always thoroughly investigating the facts, researching the law and meticulously preparing every case. As a result, his rate of success on his trials was among the best in the Office.
Mr. Nadel took those same skills to the New York City Law Department where between 1979 and 1980 as an Assistant Corporation Counsel, he defended the City in major accident and other negligence cases. He won cases where police officers were sued for various activities, where citizens fell over broken sidewalks and roadways and where individuals were assaulted by employees of the City. From 1980 to 1983, Lloyd worked for a boutique law firm handling their criminal defense and personal injury cases in Nassau County. In 1983, he started his own firm concentrating in these two areas of the law as well as handling general practice matters such as wills, estates and real estate closings. Mr. Nadel uses the skills he honed as an Assistant District Attorney and Assistant Corporation Counsel to obtain the best possible results for his clients whether by trial, plea bargain or settlement.
